'08 Amherst Alumnus, Coming Soon to a Theater Near You

Rob Brown ’08 will star alongside Dennis Quaid in the upcoming film The Express, set to release this fall. Brown, a football player during his own college career, will play Ernie Davis, who died from leukemia at the age of 23 shortly after becoming the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy in 1961.

It was another record-breaking year for the college’s Annual Fund: Amherst alumni, family and friends donated $10.7 million during the 2007-08 fiscal year, shattering the previous record of $9.6 million. Equally impressive was the number of people who contributed; an incredible 61.5 percent of all alumni gave back to their alma mater.
