Amherst alumni involved in government or nonprofit work are invited to attend a special reception that will connect them with student participants in the Careers in Government & Nonprofit Trek. This is a wonderful opportunity for alumni to meet students expressing an interest in these sectors and for students to build valuable networking skills in a supportive environment.

About the program:
The Careers in Government & Nonprofit Trek is an opportunity for Amherst College students to explore the wide range of work in the government and nonprofit sectors. Twelve carefully selected students will spend their spring break in Washington, D.C. and Annapolis, M.D. visiting alumni and other leaders working on important public issues. The students are committed to learning about the various approaches organizations and individuals use to address public problems and the career paths that would allow them to make their own unique contributions. Funding for the trek is provided by the Samuel Rosenberg '72 Fund for Introduction to Government & Nonprofit Careers.

Directions: District Commons is located on Washington Circle, two blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro on the Blue/Orange Lines, and is serviced by Metrobus and the Circulator.
