Kirk Johnson, Ph.D., leads one of the world's premier museums for the study of the natural world where scientists and curators make new discoveries and care for 145 million treasured objects and specimens. Johnson, a paleobotanist and geologist, is known for his books and media appearances, recently hosting the PBS NOVA special, Making North America. He will present a talk entitled Natural History in the Age of Humans which explores how research on fossils shapes modern-day thinking on everything from climate dynamics to human evolution.
