Amherst alumni in the New Orleans area are invited to connect with current Amherst College students who are participating in the 2018 Education Trek sponsored by Amherst Careers in Education Professions. This is a wonderful opportunity for alumni to meet current students who are exploring careers in education, and for students to network and expand their understanding of the diverse and constantly evolving field of education.
The 2018 Education Trek to New Orleans is a special opportunity for Amherst College sophomores, juniors and seniors to explore the wide range of opportunities within education and engage with Amherst alumni in various education professions. Taking in the distinctive and diverse culture of New Orleans as a starting point, students will explore a city that has placed itself at the forefront of an American education renaissance and that is a laboratory for new ideas, leadership, and pedagogies. Students will visit schools and education agencies and have the opportunity to meet teachers, thought leaders, reform advocates, and education researchers.
