Coach Mills came to Amherst in 1993 and served as a defensive coordinator through the 1996 season before taking over as the Head Coach. The team finished at 7-1 three times during Mills' first 12 seasons. Amherst College Football broke through in 2009 by posting its first 8-0 record since 1984. The postseason awards poured in for Coach Mills, whose honors included an American Football Coaches Association Division III Region 1 Coach of the Year selection. Since then, the Mammoths have gone undefeated three times (2011, 2014 and 2015), and have captured four more NESCAC titles to increase the total to six. In addition to coaching three NESCAC Offensive Players of the Year, four Defensive Players of the Year, and countless All-Conference selections, Coach Mills has mentored some of the country’s finest scholar-athletes and citizens. He feels proud to be entering his 26th year at Amherst College and looks forward to the challenges of the upcoming season. Go Amherst! Beat Williams!
