Join Amherst College alumni, parents and friends for an exclusive reception with William Taubman, Bertrand Snell Professor of Political Science, Emeritus. Professor Taubman will greet guests at a private reception in the lobby of the library from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and then discuss sections of his latest book, Gorbachev: His Life and Times, a National Book Critics Circle Award Finalist.
Professor Taubman’s biography, Khrushchev: The Man and His Era won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award for biography. Professor Taubman has also authored Stalin’s American Policy: From Entente to Détente to Cold War, and co-authored with his wife, retired Amherst College professor of Russian, Jane Taubman, Moscow Spring.
