Participating in the 2019 World Pride | Stonewall 50 March
Amherst and Williams will join forces to participate in the annual NYC Pride March. We will be joining hundreds of other schools, organizations and groups to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.
We warmly invite all Amherst alumni, students and parents to march with us under our school banners (children and allies are welcome!). Show your Purple Pride and sign up to march with us.
Our step off time is 7 p.m. Our walking group will join the NYC Pride March at 31st Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue. The march ends at 23rd Street and 7th Avenue.

Pre-March Reception
Connect with friends from Amherst and Williams before our step off time for the NYC Pride March. The Pre-March reception will occur from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at The 40/40 Club, Jay Z Lounge at 6 West 25th Street, New York, NY. Cost to attend this event is $20. Spaces are limited.

2019 World Pride | Stonewall 50 Watch Party
We are happy to invite alumni, students and parents to watch the NYC Pride March with friends from Connecticut College and Colgate University. TVs will be streaming Parade coverage from The Liberty NYC (29 West 35th Street, New York, NY) from noon to 3 p.m.

About the NYC Pride March
The first March was held in 1970 and has since become an annual civil rights demonstration. Over the years, its purpose has broadened to include recognition of the fight against AIDS and to remember those we have lost to illness, violence and neglect.

The March is a celebration of our lives and our community. In 2018, we were joined by over 550 unique marching contingents, representing a vast array of non-profits, community organizations, corporate sponsors, small businesses, political candidates and activists! With over 100 floats making the trek along the route, last year's March was one of the largest and most exciting in history.
