The Museum of Russian Icons was founded in 2006 by Gordon B. Lankton and is home to the largest collection of Russian Icons in North America, and one of the largest private collections outside Russia. In addition to the regular display of more than 450 icons, the museum currently has an exhibition called Treasures from Moscow: Icons from the Andrey Rublev Museum. In 2010, the museum began construction to prepare for this exhibition of 37 paintings and artifacts, most of which have never been shown before in the United States.
This event is coordinated by Wesleyan University. Participating schools include Amherst, Wesleyan and Williams.
