From Amherst Professor Lawrence Douglas (The Catastrophist) comes a wry and brilliant new novel, The Vices, of identity and high society. When prominent philosopher, scholar, and art collector Oliver Vice disappears from a cruise, his friend launches on a personal investigation to peel back the layers of his friend's history and strange family.

Professor Douglas will also read from his parody, The Girl with the Sturgeon Tattoo, published under the pseudonym Lars Arffsson, "Arguably the funniest novel to emerge from Northern Europe since the Black Death," according to the editors at Amazon.
