Where is the Amherst Library headed in this brave new world of revolutionary changes in the way we produce, access and disseminate scholarship? Why does the vast majority of data, literature, and scholarship flow only to a wealthy, tiny elite? Why have governments, universities, colleges, publishers, and libraries failed to disseminate the knowledge required by free and democratic societies? Come hear some responsible and irresponsible thoughts from Bryn Geffert, the librarian of the college, and learn about plans afoot at Amherst to tackle these questions head on.
