San Leandro, CA 94577
MedShare is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the environment and healthcare through the efficient recovery and redistribution of surplus medical supplies to underserved healthcare facilities in over 80 developing countries. MedShare volunteers help sort and prepare supplies for shipping, and receive a brief orientation describing the powerful impact of their contribution on countless patients.
Please arrive promptly so we can get everyone signed in and paperwork completed before our shift begins at 9 a.m. Snacks and drinks will be provided but please feel free to bring your own as well.
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty. Although volunteers will be working in an indoor warehouse, please dress in layers and take into consideration the outside temperature. Closed-toe shoes are required. No sandals, flip flops or high heels please! MedShare requires a permission form signed by a parent or legal guardian for anyone under the age of 18 to participate in a volunteer activity. Volunteers must be at least 10 years old and those between the ages of 10 to 13 years old must be accompanied and continuously monitored by an adult 21 years of age or older.
Click here for directions to MedShare. MedShare has a large, free parking lot in front and on the side of its building. We can arrange for a volunteer to pick up fellow volunteers from the San Leandro BART station located approximately one mile from MedShare.
