Bryn Geffert came to Amherst from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he spent two years as library director and associate professor of history. He was previously reference librarian for eight years and college librarian for seven years at St. Olaf College, where he was also an associate professor of Russian-area studies. Geffert will discuss the newly launched Amherst College Press which will be housed in Frost Library and will solicit manuscripts from scholars who may be especially receptive to new publishing paradigms at a time when traditional academic presses are reducing the number of titles they publish.
The New Hampshire Association is participating in Amherst Caring Together (ACT) by helping The Friendly Kitchen feed the hungry and provide a warm, homey place for their guests to enjoy a meal, conversation and shelter from the New Hampshire weather. Please feel free to bring a donation of non-perishable food to the Common Man Restaurant on March 27th, 2013 between 6 - 8 p.m.
Registration for the event is not required to donate.
