Reception details: the pre-concert reception for Professor Poccia will be held on the patio of the newly-renovated El Chorro Restaurant, only a few miles from the concert venue. A cash bar and hors d'oeuvres will be available starting at 4:30 p.m. Professor Poccia will have to leave at 6:15 in order to prepare for his performance. Dinner is available at El Chorro, as well as several other nearby properties - Camelback Inn and Montelucia Resort on Lincoln Blvd, or Fleming's and Remington's and Calistro on Scottsdale Road.
Concert details: La Forza Chamber Orchestra featuring Professor Dominic Poccia on baritone sax. The program will include A London Symphony, Ralph Vaughan Williams; Brandenburg Brew (for jazz quintet and chamber orchestra), Frank Darmiento, adapted from Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 by J.S. Bach; and Concerto for Jazz Quintet and Orchestra, Frank Darmiento.
Association Request: The issue of holding additional Amherst-related events in and around Phoenix has been raised several times, and a questionnaire was processed in 2012. Ted Krismann '61 and David Bornemann '61 will be attending the reception and would be interested in any comments or suggestions attendees might have on this subject.
