Please join fellow alumni for a hike through Patapsco Valley State Park and see waterfalls and smaller cascades along the Cascade Falls Circuit. We'll see a variety of wildlife in the forest of beech trees, maples, tulip poplars and paw paw trees, as well as ruins of stone structures. Toward the end of our hike, we will enjoy dipping our feet in the cool pool of a waterfall.
Hiking level is Moderate.
Total distance is 5.7 miles round trip
Elevation gain is 1,170 feet.

Entrance fee to the park is $3 per person for Maryland residents,
$5 per person for out-of-state residents.
Please bring your own water and snacks.
Please Note: We'll meet at 10 a.m. sharp in the parking lot at 5120 South Street for the Cascade Falls Circuit. Look for the Amherst purple and white banner. Carpooling is encouraged. If you need a ride (or can offer a ride) from the Metro or a central location, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Directions: Drive north on I-95 to eastbound I-195. After 1.2 miles, take exit 3 to U.S. 1 toward Elkridge. Take a right at the end of the ramp, and then make an immediate right onto South Street. The entrance to the park is on your left. Follow the park entrance road to where it ends at Gun Road. Turn left to cross the Patapsco River, and then turn right. Proceed 1.7 miles to the Orange Grove Area and park in the lot across from the swinging bridge.
