Latin American and Caribbean Center Director Frank Mora will moderate an open discussion between these two experts who will offer their views on whether Presidents Obama and Maduro can, or will, identify common interests as grounds for reapproximation after 14years of the Bolivarian Revolution.

Ambassador Patrick Duddy, former U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela, was expelled by President Hugo Chavez on September 11, 2008, and reinstated for the term 2009-2010.  He is currently Visiting Senior Lecturer at Duke University's Center for International Studies and the Fuqua School of Business.

Javier Corrales is the John E. Kirkpatrick 1951 Professor of Political Science at Amherst College.  He is a frequent invited expert on broadcast media and is the published author of numerous works on Venezuelan politics.
