Helen Wan '95, a lawyer and novelist, is the author of The Partner Track (St. Martin's Press), about a young Asian American woman competing for partnership at a prestigious law firm, and how race, gender, class, and "outsider" status impact the journeys of young people on the corporate ladder. The Wall Street Journal calls The Partner Track "an engaging and suspenseful debut. She dissects the tokens of status in this world in a manner reminiscent of Tom Wolfe." The book was also featured in a recent Washington Post Magazine cover story on "The Bamboo Ceiling." Wan has practiced corporate and media law in New York City for fifteen years, at law firms and as Associate General Counsel at the Time Inc. division of Time Warner. She is now at work on a second novel.
