Campus Facilities and Services
All alcohol must be served by an official bartender. BYO parties and no-host bars are not permitted on the campus.
Meetings will be held in Chapin Lounge of Chapin Hall on Friday and Saturday from 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
In Massachusetts, all persons under the age of 21 are prohibited from purchasing, otherwise procuring, transporting and/or consuming alcoholic beverages. It is illegal to serve alcoholic beverages to an already intoxicated person. Any sale of alcoholic beverages without a license is also prohibited. Public consumption or conveyance of alcohol in open containers is illegal in the Town of Amherst. This includes the presence of open containers in vehicles as well as the carrying of such containers on sidewalks, streets, the Town Common, etc.
Due to construction on campus, we will no longer have access to the facilities we have used in the past to provide a separate children's program during the day Reunion. We have launched a new program to offer supervised activities for children 4 and over from 5-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings. Learn more>>
The college cannot arrange for private babysitters. If families require a sitter, it is suggested they arrange for one to accompany them to reunion or use a source such as Care.com or Sittercity.com. (NOTE: Care.com and Sittercity.com are private for-profit businesses and are in no way affiliated with Amherst College.)
A shuttle van will be available to transport guests with special needs around the Amherst campus. Call Alumni House at (413) 542-2065 during Alumni Holiday/Reunion to make arrangements for pickup and dropoff. PLEASE NOTE: While there is a shuttle service provided between outlying parking lots and the Main Quad, the college cannot provide shuttle service for guests between programs, with the exception of those guests with special needs. Click here for more information about parking on campus during Reunion.

Two public computers will be available for use in Alumni House. Due to high demand, we ask that guests limit their use of these computers to 15 minutes at a time. For longer access, you may use one of the public computers on campus at the following locations (log on with the username acguest):
- Frost Library: Lobby and A Level
- Seeley Mudd Computer Center
- Keefe Campus Center kiosks (2)
- Converse Hall kiosks (2) on the second-floor balcony
- Valentine Hall kiosks (2)
- Alumni Gym kiosk on the balcony outside Wolff Fitness Center
If you plan to use your own computer, please note that Ethernet ports in dorm rooms should be active, so you may access the Internet if you bring an Ethernet-equipped computer and an Ethernet cable. The college cannot provide Ethernet adapters, cables or technical support for computer access in individual rooms. Please note that the telephone ports in individual rooms will not be active, so dial-up Internet service providers will not be accessible from your room on campus.
There is wireless network access in all dorms, Alumni House, the Library, Keefe Campus Center, the Science and Music Libraries, Webster Technology Classroom, Seeley Mudd and almost all academic buildings. Please be aware that, due to the nature of wireless signals, you may not receive any wireless reception in some areas of certain buildings.
In order to access both the wireless and the Ethernet networks, alumni must first register their computers on the Amherst network. When your device is on the Amherst network, you will need to open a Web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari or Chrome) You should automatically be taken to the NetReg page. (If you are not automatically sent to the NetReg page, type netreg.amherst.edu in the address field of your browser.) Once you arrive at the NetReg page, follow the instructions for Visitors and Guests on the right side of the page.
