EMT SKILLS MANUAL came about because the Lorraine Jeitner (RN) of the EMS Office of California felt that Dr. Charles Phillips' community college EMT teaching of patient exam and other skills should become a book.  So she called the East Coast publishers.  The book is a skills manual to match other theory books.  Each skill is matched to the test of the skill - no surprises at the end.  The MD modified skill steps are now common in every book for EMTs.
