Celebrate the Launch of the Office of Student Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion!

T he Office of Student Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion could not be more excited to announce our official launch with some incredible speakers and events. We'll begin the series with our first guest speaker, Dr. Cornel West, on Thursday, March 18, 2022 followed by a keynote by Dr. Lori Patton Davis on Thursday, March 25, 2022. From Wednesday, April 21 to Thursday, April 29, 2022 we will be hosting our Alumni Chats Series, where recent alumni will provide first-hand information on their majors, career paths, and personal experiences over the course of five different days. Please find more information below on registration information for our events.

They will discuss student leadership, institutional accountability, and how to make change in the contemporary world. This event is co-sponsored by Amherst’s Black Studies, American Studies, and Political Science departments.

Speaker: Dr. Lori Patton Davis

Date and Time: Thursday, March 25, 7 pm EST via Zoom 

The Office of Student Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is excited to present Dr. Lori Patton Davis, an eminent scholar on race and racism in higher education, campus diversity initiatives, Black students--particularly, girls and women in educational and social contexts--and college student development. On March 25th at 7 PM EST, Dr. Patton Davis will give a 45-minute keynote speech on race, racism, and student leadership in higher education with 15 minutes for questions and answers. This event is co-sponsored by Amherst’s Education Studies Department and the Resource Center Team.
