Carleton passed away on Cape Cod at the end of 2016 at the age of 91. He was a combat veteran of World War II in Europe.
We lost touch with Carleton after he left Amherst early but have learned that he was an equity analyst for 30 years for Babson Reports in Wellesley, Mass. His hobby was visiting libraries throughout the state. He is survived by a daughter, Oona Melanson; a son, Sailing; and four grandchildren.
