In Memory

Jim experienced several strokes going back to 2000 and suffered a fatal attack on Feb. 25, 2011. His three children and five grandchildren survive him. A memorial service was held for Jim late last June at the home of his daughter Linda ’85.

After college and the U.S. Army, Jim joined the foreign service branch of the State Department, serving in various European cities and countries as well as stateside in New York and Washington. He retired in 1989 only to be recalled by his former employer until his health dictated his final retirement in 2005.

Jim relocated to Tucson, and then, about two years prior to his passing, Jim came east to a retirement community in southern New Jersey. With his service abroad, Jim wasn’t able to attend our reunions but was pleased with phone visits initiated by this reporter in the springs of 2008 and again in 2009, the substance of which were reported in the summer issues of this magazine for those two years.
