Many of you already know the sad news that our father died on Friday at 1:15 am, August 12th, surrounded by his family and dear friend Harry Oppenheimer and Karen Strassler (our cousin). He was peaceful as he transitioned into another place unknown to us all. Louis Armstrong serenaded him the moment he took his last breath and during his last days. Even during his final days he would tap his feet to the beat or raise his eyebrows, perhaps dancing to the music. He was peaceful, loved, and comfortable. We all will miss him terribly.
We are having a time to gather for memories, thoughts, laughs, tears, for the next two days at Sara's before Sara and I have a few days on our own at the ocean. We have beautiful pictures of my father and mother and family members around the house honoring them.
We have been taking comfort in all your emails and messages. Thank you for all your tender love during this time.
We will let you know what we will be doing for our father to celebrate his life at some point in the future.
