During Homecoming each year, visitors are invited to attend classes in subjects ranging from math to music, economics to literature, and so much more. Here, Eleonora Mattiacci (center, in black glasses), assistant professor of political science, gathers with students from “Politics of Climate Change,” one of over 30 classes that visitors could choose from this year.

“Artificial Intelligence,” taught by Scott Alfeld, assistant professor of computer science, provided another chance for alumni to get back into the classroom.

The Amherst women’s volleyball team took on Tufts in LeFrak Gymnasium. Although they lost this game, they are 17-5 for the season, with only two more games to go.

A favorite feature of the renewed Homecoming bonfire tradition: student a cappella performances.

The bonfire provides heat. And light. And an opportunity for the campus community to come together. Terras Irradient!

The annual “Conversation with Biddy Martin” gives Homecoming attendees a chance to hear about the College’s activities and priorities directly from the president.

Visitors take advantage of the opportunity to ask President Martin questions. They also sometimes unknowingly mimic the gestures of historical Amherst figures.

The Amherst Mammoths faced the Wesleyan Cardinals on Oct. 26, a beautiful fall Saturday.

Although the Mammoths ultimately suffered a two-point loss in double overtime to Wesleyan, the team and the fans celebrated a winning moment.

The celebration continued at the Homecoming Fest in LeFrak Gym, where guests enjoyed food, drink and jazz music. Plus games and treats just for kids!

Everyone is invited to the yearly Zumbyes reception to listen or sing along: current members, former members and non-members alike.

This year’s audience showed the Zumbyes some love. Clearly the singers loved this as well—they could barely keep their feet on the ground!
