Jack McCallum, Sports Illustrated Writer

Jack McCallum

Currently, Jack McCallum is a special contributor to Sports Illustrated and formerly was a writer for the magazine for almost 30 years, primarily covering the National Basketball Association. His work has been widely praised throughout his tenure with the magazine and in 2005 McCallum was the recipient of the Curt Gowdy Media Award from the Basketball Hall of Fame.

In addition to his work with Sports Illustrated, McCallum has also written a number of books that offer in-depth looks at notable basketball teams such as Unfinished Business (1990-91 Boston Celtics), 7 Seconds or Less (2005-2006 Phoenix Suns), and Dream Team (1992 United States Men’s Olympic Basketball Team).

Jack McCallum has a degree in English from Muhlenberg College and a Masters degree in English Literature from Lehigh University. Teaches a class at Muhlenberg called “Sport, Culture, and Media”.
