TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 
  • Amherst finished the season at 27-4
  • Finished second in the nation after losing to Washington University-St. Louis 90-68 in the National Championship game
  • Advanced to the National Championship for the second year in a row after defeating Ursinus College 84-58 in the NCAA National Semifinal game
  • Earned an at-large Pool C bid to their eleventh overall and ninth straight NCAA Tournament, drawing a first-round bye and beating visiting John Jay College, 96-74, then topping Richard Stockton College, 85-77, and Brandeis University, 65-55, at Plattsburgh St. University to advance to the National Semifinal round
  • As the top seed, defeated Colby College, 86-69, in the opening round before falling to Bowdoin College 65-64
  • Senior class graduates tied with the Class of ’07 as the program’s most winningest class with 111 career wins
  • Went 9-0 in regular season NESCAC play to win fourth consecutive regular season conference title
  • Claimed their fourth consecutive Little Three Championship by sweeping Wesleyan University and Williams College
  • The senior class finishes 16-0 in Little Three play and 8-1 overall against Williams College
  • Knocked off Westfield St. University and Western New England College to capture the Pioneer Valley Classic (PVC) and move to 13-0 all-time in PVC play
  • Posted wins over Hunter College and Southern Vermont College to win the Sixth-Annual Ken Wright ’52 Memorial Invitational (hosted by Amherst)
  • Finished second in the nation in field-goal percentage (52.1%), second in blocked shots per game (6.1 pg), fifth in scoring margin (+13.9),  tenth in three-point field-goal percentage (40.6%), fifth in assists per game (17.9 pg), and twelfth in assist-to-turnover ration (1.28).
  • Finished first in the NESCAC in scoring offense (81.0 pg), scoring margin (+13.9), field goal percentage (52.1%),  assists (17.9 pg), steals (7.55 pg), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.28), and second in blocked shots (6.13 pg).

  • NABC National Player of the Year for the second consecutive year
  • NABC Northeast Region Player of the Year for the second consecutive year

  • ECAC New England Player of the Year for the second consecutive year
  • Finalist for the Bob Cousy Award and Jostens Trophy
  • NCAA Sectional Most Outstanding Player for the third consecutive year

  • NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team for the second consecutive year

  • Scored his 1,000th career point on January 15th at Elms College, finished the season with 1,238 points, 12th in program history

Senior Forward Fletcher Walters
  • Named All-NESCAC First Team
  • Named to the NCAA All-Sectional Team
  • NABC First-Team All-Northeast
  • Selected to play in the New England Basketball Coaches Association (NEBCA) Division III Senior All-Star Game
  • NESCAC Player of the Week for both the periods ending January 14th and February 5th
  • Shot 81.6% from the free throw line, 13th-best in program history
  • Finished 5th in the NESCAC in scoring with 14.8 points per game
  • Part of the winningest class in Amherst history, with 111 wins in four seasons
