Five Amherst Student-Athletes Grab ECAC New England All-Star Honors
June 18 - Five Amherst College student-athletes were named to various ECAC Division III New England All-Star teams this morning for their play in spring sports. A trio of women's lacrosse players were joined by a single member from each the men's lacrosse and softball teams. Full Story

Neal Allar, T.J. Jackson Earn Prestigious National Academic Honors
May 27 - Two Amherst College senior student-athletes have added to already-impressive resumes by earning prestigious national academic honors this week. While T.J. Jackson has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-America Team, Neal Allar has earned ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Third Team honors. Full Story

May 15 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team has reason to celebrate this afternoon, as one career ends with a regional honor and another career starts. Senior T.J. Amherst Places Three on NESCAC All-Conference Teams

May 7 - Amherst College senior midfielder T.J. Jackson was named to the 2008 NESCAC Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference First Team this afternoon, while teammates Tom McDonnell and Chris Fitzpatrick were tabbed for the Second Team. All three players make their respective debuts on the highly competitive NESCAC postseason lists with today’s honors. Full Story

Men's Lacrosse Sees Season End Despite 17-12 Win Over Colby
April 26 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team took care of business this afternoon with a 17-12 win over Colby at home, but did not get the help needed in other NESCAC games to sneak into the upcoming conference tournament. Amherst ends the season at 8-7 overall, and 3-6 in the NESCAC. Full Story

Amherst Suffers 10-8 Loss at Tufts; Jeffs Still in Playoff Picture
April 22 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team lost for the seventh time in the last nine games to fall to 7-7 overall and 2-6 in conference play, as the Lord Jeffs suffered a 10-8 defeat at Tufts. An Amherst win over Colby this weekend coupled with losses by Williams and Bates will give the Jeffs the seventh and final seed in the conference championship. Full Story

Jeffs Fall to 2-5 in NESCAC with 12-9 Loss at Bowdoin
April 19 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team suffered a 12-9 loss at Bowdoin College, as the Lord Jeffs have gone 2-6 in their last eight games. Amherst has just two games remaining in the regular season and will need to get back on track in order to qualify for the conference playoffs. Full Story

Amherst Routs Williams 17-8 in Crucial NESCAC Matchup
April 12 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team snapped a three-game losing streak this afternoon with a 17-8 thumping of NESCAC and Little Three archrival Williams College. In a crucial conference matchup, Amherst pulled away from the Ephs with an offensive explosion. Full Story

Lord Jeffs Fall to Wesleyan 9-8 in Regulation on the Road
April 9 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team rallied to tie the game in the fourth quarter at Wesleyan, but fell 9-8 when the Cardinals scored in the final two minutes. Amherst had a shot to tie the game with less than 15 seconds, but had the final push turned away. Full Story

Amherst's Comeback Falls Short; Jeffs Fall to Middlebury, 15-13
April 5 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team fell into an early hole against Middlebury College but stormed back to trail 11-10 late in the game. The Panthers were able to hang on, however, and improve to 6-0 in the NESCAC with the 15-13 victory, while the Lord Jeffs fell to 6-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference. Full Story

April 2 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team suffered its third defeat in the last four games this evening against visiting Trinity College. The Lord Jeffs fell 6-4, to drop to 6-3 on the year, and 1-2 in NESCAC play. Full Story

Amherst Snaps Two-Game Skid with 8-5 Win at Connecticut
March 29 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team got back on track by picking up its first conference win of the season, as the Lord Jeffs earned an 8-5 victory at Connecticut College to move to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the NESCAC. The two teams were tied at halftime, but Amherst outscored the Camels 4-1 in the final two quarters. Full Story

Jeffs Lose Hard-Fought Battle with Skidmore, 11-10
March 25 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team found itself in an early 3-0 hole against visiting Skidmore College but stormed back to lead late in the fourth quarter. The Lord Jeffs could not hang on, however, as the Thoroughbreds regained the lead and held on for an 11-10 victory to defeat Amherst for the second consecutive season. Full Story

March 22 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team returned from its Spring Break trip with a perfect 5-0 record, but the Lord Jeffs opened up their conference slate with a 9-4 loss at Bates College to move to 5-1 overall and 0-1 in the NESCAC. Men's Lacrosse Will Return Home Undefeated; Beats Hamilton 10-7
March 20 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team will return home from Spring Break and start NESCAC play undefeated as they took care of Hamilton 10-7 this afternoon. The Lord Jeffs are 5-0, and will face Bates Saturday in the conference opener on the road. Full Story

March 18 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team continued its Spring Break success this afternoon, and rolled to a 15-9 win over Roger Williams University in Florida. Amherst led 10-2 at halftime, and cruised to the easy win. Full Story

March 16 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team remains unbeated today at 3-0 on the season, after picking up a 14-4 win over Salve ReginaUniversity. The Jeffs were led by Tom McDonnell's five goal, one assist performance. Full Story

March 12 - The Amherst College men's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 on the season with an 11-10 overtime win at Springfield College this evening. Tom McDonnell scored the game-winner in the extra frame on an assist from Will Ferrer. Full Story

Amherst Rolls Over Mount Ida in Season Opener, 14-3
March 8 - The Amherst College spring slate kicked off with the Lord Jeff men's lacrosse team cruising to a 14-3 victory over visiting Mount Ida College. Amherst carried a 7-3 lead into the fourth quarter before erupting for seven unanswered goals to win the season opener for the first time since 2005. Full Story

February 27 - The Amherst men's lacrosse team graduated a small but talented class in 2007 and has reloaded its roster this season with a depth of young talent. The Lord Jeffs have worked hard in the off-season, and will look to challenge for a NESCAC title this spring. Full Story

Former Amherst Student-Athletes Further Careers in Professional Sports
December 10 - In the past week, a pair of Amherst College graduates and former student-athletes have made headlines for career moves in professional athletics. Early last week Jared Banner ’07 signed a contract as an assistant in the Boston Red Sox player development department, while classmate Derek Cherney was selected in the 2008 Supplemental Draft for Major League Lacrosse (MLL).
