Five Amherst Student-Athletes Grab ECAC New England All-Star Honors
June 18 - Five Amherst College student-athletes were named to various ECAC Division III New England All-Star teams this morning for their play in spring sports. A trio of women's lacrosse players were joined by a single member from each the men's lacrosse and softball teams. Full Story

Amherst Places Four on ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Teams
May 12 - ESPN the Magazine announced the 2008 Academic All-District honorees last week, with four Amherst College student-athletes earning a spot on a District 1 team for the college division. Neal Allar and Mike Neff represent the Amherst baseball team, while Jackie Tyler and Alex Chang-Graham represent the Lord Jeff softball team. Full Story

Tyler, Chang-Graham Earn Prestigious Postseason Honors
May 8 - The NFCA announced on Tuesday the members of the 2008 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region teams, and the NESCAC announced today the members of the 2008 Softball All-Conference teams. Sophomores Jackie Tyler and Alex Chang-Graham were named to the NFCA All-New England First and Third teams, respectively, and each earned All-NESCAC First Team honors. Full Story

Amherst Ends Season with Heartbreaking Loss to Williams in Nightcap
April 26 - The Amherst College softball team defeated Williams College 4-2 in game one of Saturday's doubleheader and carried a 5-3 lead into the seventh inning of game two, but the Ephs scored seven unanswered runs and held on for the 10-6 victory. Full Story

Lord Jeffs Defeat Williams 3-1 for First Win Since 2000 Over Ephs
April 25 - The Amherst College softball team defeated Williams College 3-1 this afternoon on the road for the first win over the Ephs since 2000. With the victory, Amherst keeps its playoff hopes alive, but will need to sweep a doubleheader against the Ephs at home tomorrow. Full Story

Amherst Rebounds from 2-1 Loss with 13-5 Win Over Bates in Nightcap
April 22 - The Amherst College softball team dropped a close 2-1 game to Bates College in game one of a non-conference doubleheader but erupted for 13 runs in the nightcap to pick up a 13-5 win in five innings. Amherst Pitchers Win NESCAC Player of the Week Awards
April 21 - Amherst College sophomore Alexandra Chang-Graham and first-year Jeff Keenan took hom the NESCAC Softball and Baseball Pitcher of the Week awards this afternoon. The award is the second for Keenan, and the first for Chang-Graham this season. Full Story

Neckes Provides Game-Winning Hit to Lead Jeffs Past Middlebury, 3-2
April 20 - The Amherst College softball team trailed Middlebury College for the first six and a half innings on Sunday, but the Jeffs were able to tie things up in the bottom of the seventh before senior tri-captain Elizabeth Neckes belted a game-winning RBI-single to right center field. Amherst Takes One of Two at Wesleyan; Jeffs Still in Playoff Hunt
April 19 - The Amherst College softball team earned a 1-0 win at Wesleyan in game one of Saturday's doubleheader but could not complete the sweep, as the Cardinals clinched the top spot in the West standings with a 9-3 win over the Lord Jeffs. April 16 - The Amherst College softball team suffered a 9-3 loss to Smith College in game one of a non-conference doubleheader but came back to earn a 3-2 win in the nightcap. Junior Maddie Tamagni pitched six innings in game two, picking up her first win and save of the season. Full Story

April 15 - The Amherst College softball team fell to non-conference rival Western New England College this afternoon on the road, 1-0 in 8 innings. Amherst will play against local rival Smith College at home tomorrow for a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Full Story

Amherst Drops Two at Brandeis; Jeffs Lose Nightcap on Walk-Off Single
April 14 - The Amherst College softball team dropped game one of a doubleheader with Brandeis University, 9-1, but carried a lead into the bottom of the seventh inning in the nightcap. The host Judges were able to muster a comeback and hit two home runs in the seventh inning before the walk-off single, increasing their winning streak to 12 games. Full Story

Amherst Cruises to 9-0 Win Over Middlebury Before Falling 6-5 in Nightcap
April 13 - The Amherst College softball team needed just one hour to take care of Middlebury College in the front end of Sunday's doubleheader, as the Lord Jeffs put up nine runs and held the Panthers scoreless. The teams played 12 innings in the second game, with Middlebury hanging on for a 6-5 victory. Full Story

Jeffs Split at Westfield State in Non-Conference Doubleheader
April 9 - The Amherst College softball team fell in an early hole in game one of a doubleheader at Westfield State College en route to a 6-3 loss, but the Lord Jeffs were able to bounce back to earn a 6-0 victory in the nightcap. March 26 - The Amherst College softball team broke in its new field with a 3-1 loss to Worcester Polytechnic Institute to move to 5-6 on the season. The Lord Jeffs will open NESCAC West play this weekend when they host Middlebury College in a three-game weekend series, with the first game set for Friday at 4 p.m. Full Story

Amherst Snaps Five-Game Winning Streak with Losses to Morningside, Luther
March 21 - The Amherst College softball team carried a five-game winning streak into Friday but was unable to win a sixth straight, as the Lord Jeffs suffered a 12-2 loss to Morningside College before falling to Luther College in the nightcap, 8-0. March 19 - The Amherst College softball team earned a pair of shutouts on Tuesday, defeating Nichols College by a 10-0 margin before picking up a 7-0 win over Bethany Lutheran College in the nightcap. March 17 - The Amherst College softball team kicked off Monday with a 6-4 loss to University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point but recovered with a 6-4 win over Buena Vista University. Senior tri-captain Liz Neckes provided the heroics with a walk-off home run in the win. The Lord Jeffs move to 1-3 on the season and will take on Nichols and Bethany Lutheran Tuesday afternoon. March 16 - The Amherst College softball team fell to Lakeland in its 2008 season opener, 5-1, but ran into some stellar pitching against Babson in Sunday's nightcap, as the Lord Jeffs suffered an 8-1 loss to the Beavers.
