Sasser Once Again Named Finalist for Division III Woman Athlete of the Year
March 31 - Amherst College senior Brittany Sasser is being recognized on the national level for her incredible 2007-08 campaign with the Lord Jeffs' swimming and diving team. The Collegiate Women Sports Awards Program has once again named Sasser one of 11 nominees for the Division III Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year honor, which is to be presented June 23 at Columbia University in New York City. Amherst Places 10th at NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships; Kai Robinson Named Diver of the Meet
March 22 - The Amherst College men’s swimming and diving team capped off an impressive season by placing 10th at the 2008 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships, as the Lord Jeffs racked up 131 points during the three-day event at Miami University. Junior Kai Robinson accounted for both of Amherst’s individual championships and was named Diver of the Meet for sweeping the diving events. Full Story

Men's Swimming and Diving in 12th Place at NCAA Championships After Day Two
March 21 - Amherst College landed in 14th place after day one of the 2008 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, but the Lord Jeffs were able to jump to 12th place by the end of the second day of competition. Leading the Jeffs on Friday was Alex Fraser, who placed third in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:39.27. Day One and Two Results

Men's Swimming and Diving in 14th at NCAA Championships After Day One
March 20 - The Amherst College men's swimming and diving team landed in 14th place after day one of the 2008 NCAA Division III Championships, as the Lord Jeffs racked up 31 points. Highlighting the day for Amherst was junior Kai Robinson's individual championship score in the 1-meter diving event. The Jeffs will resume competition Friday evening. Day One Results

Jeffs Capture Second Place at NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships; Nichols Named Swimming Coach of the Meet, Sasser Named Swimmer of the Meet
March 14 - Amherst College held on to second place throughout the weekend at the 2008 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, finishing the three-day event with 341 points thanks to several NCAA Championship records. Nick Nichols was once again named the Swimming Coach of the Meet, while senior Brittany Sasser earned Swimmer of the Meet honors for the second consecutive year. Full Story

Jeffs Hang on to Second Place After Day Two of NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships
March 14 - Amherst College kept rolling at the 2008 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, holding on to second place after the second day of competition. The Lord Jeffs have racked up 255 points thus far thanks to several NCAA Championship records and trail only 21-time national champion Kenyon College. Amherst in Second Place After Day One of NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships
March 13 - Amherst College got off to an impressive start at the 2008 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, as the Lord Jeffs landed in second place after the first day of competition. The Lord Jeffs racked up 122 points on Thursday and trail only 21-time national champion Kenyon College. The 2008 championships resume Friday, Mar. 14 and will conclude Saturday, Mar. 15. Amherst Women Return to National Championships Thursday
March 11 - Five Amherst College winter teams are still going strong in their respective seasons and will be competing in NCAA tournaments and championships this weekend. Nine Amherst Men Earn NESCAC Swimming and Diving All-Conference Honors
March 4 - The NESCAC announced today the 2007-08 Men’s Swimming and Diving All-Conference Team, with the top three finishers in each event at the 2008 NESCAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship receiving All-Conference recognition. Nine members of the Amherst squad combined to earn 29 All-NESCAC honors, as the Lord Jeffs placed third at the championship meet. Full Story

March 2 - The Amherst College men's swimming and diving team placed third at the 2008 NESCAC Championships, with a pair of Lord Jeffs earning conference honors. Junior Kai Robinson was named Diver of the Year, while senior Connor Boyd earned Four-Year High Point Diver honors. Full Story

February 28 - For the second time this season, CollegeSwimming.com has tabbed Amherst first-year Kendra Stern as the National Swimmer of the Week. Stern had a stellar weekend at the 2008 NESCAC Championships to earn the award. Full Story

February 27 - Amherst College will search for its first swimming and diving conference title this weekend, as Middlebury College hosts the 2008 NESCAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships. The three-day event begins on Friday, Feb. 29 and concludes on Sunday, Mar. 2. Full Story


Seven Amherst Women's Swimmers Earn All-NESCAC Honors
February 26 - The 2007-08 Women’s Swimming and Diving All-NESCAC Team was announced today, with the top three finishers in each event at the 2008 NESCAC Championship receiving All-Conference recognition. Swim Teams Split at MIT; Women's Squad Improves to 7-0

Kendra Stern Earns NESCAC Swimming and Diving and SwimmingWorldMagazine.com Honors
February 1 - Just four days after the NESCAC named Amherst College first-year Kendra Stern the Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week  for her strong performance at Union College, SwimmingWorldMagazine.com handed Stern a national swimmer of the week award. Stern and the Lord Jeff women are a perfect 6-0 this season, and will return to action Saturday, Feb. 2 at MIT. Full Story

Amherst Teams Earn Convincing Wins at Union
January 24 - The Amherst College swimming and diving teams each cruised to victory at Union College, with the men picking up a 147-94 win and the women coming out on top with a 142.5-97.5 score. Brittany Sasser Named National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week, NESCAC Performer of the Week
January 14 - Amherst College senior Brittany Sasser earned her second CollegeSwimming.com National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week honor in as many years for leading the Lord Jeffs to a victory at Hamilton College last week. In addition, Sasser was named the NESCAC Performer of the Week for her stellar showing in Amherst's win over Williams this past Saturday. Full Story

January 12 - The Amherst College men's and women's swimming and diving teams split a pair of wins with NESCAC and Little Three archrival Williams College this afternoon at home. The Amherst women improved to 5-0 with a 152.5-147.5 win, while the Lord Jeff men dropped their first result of the year with a 144-97 defeat. Full Results

January 5 - The Amherst College men's and women's swimming and diving teams each picked up road wins this afternoon at Hamilton College to remain undefeated. The men's side won 201-97, while the women defeated Hamilton 198-96. Full Story

Mother and Daughter Find Common Ground Atop Podiums
May 31 - Amherst College junior Brittany Sasser returned home last weekend after exams to unwind for the summer. Brittany finished her third year at Amherst this week, and wrapped up her third season as a leader on the women’s swim team. She helped the Lord Jeffs to a second place finish at the NCAA Championships in March by winning two individual National Championships and a third as part of a relay team. Full story
