Tropiano Named USTFCCCA Division III Scholar Athlete of the Year
Feb. 26 - The USTFCCCA named Amherst College senior Elise Tropiano the 2009 Division III Scholar Athlete of the Year this afternoon for her success on the trail, and in the classroom. Tropiano finished 2nd at the NCAA Championships, and maintains a 3.67 GPA. Full Story

Cross Country Teams Wrap Up Season at NCAA Championships
Nov. 22 - The Amherst College men's cross country team finished in 24th place at the 2008 NCAA Championships this afternoon, before the women's team finished in 28th place. Senior Elise Tropiano finished in second place individually. Men's Results - Women's Results

Tropiano Named New England Cross Country Athlete of the Year
Nov. 19 - The USTFCCCA announced today its 2008 Division III Cross Country Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year. Amherst College senior Elise Tropiano was named the New England Women’s Athlete of the Year just three days before she will run in the national championships in Hanover, Ind. Full Story

Tropiano Named NESCAC Cross Country Performer of the Week
Nov. 17 - Amherst College senior Elise Tropiano was named the NESCAC Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week for finishing first with a time of 21:49 at the NCAA New England Regional Championship this past Saturday at Williams College. Full Story

Amherst Teams Place Top 5 at NCAA Regional Championships
Nov. 15 - The Amherst College men's cross country team finished as the runner-up at the NCAA Regional Championships to earn an automatic bid to the national championships, while the Lord Jeff women placed fifth and will hope for an at-large bid. Full Results

Lord Jeffs Prepare for NCAA Tournament
Nov. 12 - With winter seasons just around the corner, a handful of Amherst's fall teams are entering NCAA Championship competition on Saturday. The men's and women's cross country teams will run at the 2008 NCAA Regional Championships at Williams College on Saturday with hopes of returning to the national championships the following weekend. Cross Country Teams Place Top Six at ECAC Championships
Nov. 8 - The Amherst College men's and women's cross country teams headed to Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode Island to compete in the 2008 ECAC Championships. NESCAC Cross Country All-Conference Teams Announced
Nov. 4 - The 2008 NESCAC Cross Country All-Conference Teams were announced today, with senior quad-captain Elise Tropiano highlighting the Amherst College honorees by earning a First Team selection and being named the Most Outstanding Performer. Full Story

Tropiano Leads Amherst at NESCAC Cross Country Championships
Nov. 1 - Senior Elise Tropiano led the Amherst cross country teams at the 2008 NESCAC Championships by winning the individual title on the women's side, with the Lord Jeff men placing third as a team and the women finishing fifth. Full Story

Senior Elise Tropiano Named NESCAC Performer of the Week Once Again
Oct. 13 - Amherst College senior Elise Tropiano was named the NESCAC Performer of the Week once again this afternoon. This marks her second weekly honor of the 2008 season. Full Story

Amherst Excels at Open New England Championships

Oct. 11 - The Amherst College cross country teams competed against schools from Divisions I, II and III at the Open New England Championships held at Franklin Park in Boston. The Lord Jeff women placed ninth in a field of 45 teams, while the men tied for sixth in a field of 47 teams. Men's Results/Women's Results

Cross Country Teams Each Place Top 3 at Williams
Sept. 27 - The Amherst College cross country teams headed to Williams College to compete in the 2008 Purple Valley Classic. The Lord Jeff women placed third and were led by Elise Tropiano's individual victory, while the men finished in second place right behind the Ephs. Full Story

Elise Tropiano Named NESCAC Women's Performer of the Week
Sept. 22 - Amherst College nearly took a clean sweep of this week’s NESCAC Player of the Week honors, as men’s soccer senior tri-captain Jake Duker, women’s cross country senior quad-captain Elise Tropiano and volleyball first-year Katherine Kanoff each garnered recognition for contributing to a successful week of Amherst athletics. Cross Country Teams Each Place Second at UMass Dartmouth
Sept. 20 - The Amherst College cross country teams each placed second at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday afternoon, with the men finishing second in a field of 38 teams and the women landing in the runner-up spot in a field of 41. Full Story

Amherst Cross Country Teams Open Fall with Impressive Home Wins
Sept. 6 - The Amherst College men's and women's cross country teams each opened their 2008 seasons with impressive first place finishes at the Amherst Invitational. The men topped a field of four teams, and the women beat out five challengers to give both Lord Jeff squads a 1-0 start to the season. Full Story

Amherst Women Ready to Defend NESCAC, NCAA Titles
August 29 - While this past season will be tough to replicate, the team will be looking to defend its titles at the NESCAC, district and national championships and will look to some new faces to help accomplish those lofty goals. As usual, the season kicks off Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Amherst Invitational, an event that the Lord Jeff women have won in each of the past five years. Amherst Men Look to Build on Last Year's NCAA Regional Title
August 29 - While the New England region should be very strong once again, with several teams returning a lot of talent, Coach Nedeau hopes to again challenge for the program’s first NESCAC title before the team sets its sights on repeating as regional champions and cracking the top 10 at nationals. Since 2005, the Lord Jeffs have improved their score and their placing at the conference championships each year, finishing just 39 points behind first-place Williams in 2007 after trailing the champion Ephs by 114 in 2006. Senior Elise Tropiano to Write Blog for NCAA.com in 2008-09
August 29 - In the wake of the women's cross country program's first national championship, Amherst senior Elise Tropiano was asked to write a blog this season for NCAA.com.  The running diary will give an inside look to the Lord Jeff's' pursuit of a repeat title. Shauneen Garrahan '07: The Almost Olympian
August 25 - Shauneen Garrahan ’07, a standout runner during her four years at Amherst, took first place in the steeplechase at the Canadian Olympic trials in July. Though she performed impressively at Windsor, because she is not a Canadian citizen, she could not go on to the Olympics. John D’Angelo ’10 interviewed her shortly after the Beijing Games began.
