Amherst Field Hockey Loses Friend and Honorary Teammate
Apr. 2 - The Amherst College field hockey team lost a friend and honorary teammate this weekend, as four year-old Erin Roderick passed away after a life-long bout with brain cancer. The Lord Jeffs will never forget the time they spent with Erin, and her legacy will live on through their team. Full Story

Amherst Earns NFHCA National Academic Team Award
Mar. 25 - While the Amherst College field hockey team was honored with an NFHCA National Academic Team Award for achieving at least a 3.0 GPA during the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year, 15 Lord Jeffs were named to the National Academic Squad for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester. Dudzik Named NFHCA All-American for Third Straight Season
Nov. 25 - Amherst College senior Alyssa Dudzik was named to the NFHCA All-America Second Team for the third straight season this afternoon. Dudzik will graduate this spring as one of the most decorated players in program history. Full Story

Dudzik and Healey Earn NFHCA All-Region Honors in 2008
Nov. 17 - Amherst College senior Alyssa Dudzik and junior Tierney Healey earned NFHCA All-New England West Region honors this afternoon. Dudzik landed on the First Team for the third straight year, while Healey made her first career appearance on the Second Team. Full Story

Amherst Earns Four All-NESCAC Honors; Vitale Named Rookie of the Year
Nov. 12 - The 2008 NESCAC Field Hockey All-Conference Team was announced today, with four Amherst College student-athletes earning postseason recognition. Senior Alyssa Dudzik was named to the First Team, with juniors Molly Malloy and Tierney Healey and first-year Emily Vitale earning a spot on the Second Team. Amherst Falls to Trinity in NESCAC Quarterfinals, 1-0
Nov. 2 - Just two days after upsetting Trinity College, the Amherst College field hockey team suffered a 1-0 loss to the Bantams in the quarterfinal round of the NESCAC Championship. Amherst snapped its six-game unbeaten streak to end the season at 10-5. Full Story

Amherst Edges 8th-Ranked Trinity in Overtime to Grab No. 4 Seed
Oct. 31 - The Amherst College field hockey team will host a first-round game in the upcoming NESCAC Championship thanks to a 1-0 overtime win at Trinity College. The Lord Jeffs, who have now won six in a row, will host Trinity Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. on Gooding Field. Full Story

Oct. 25 - The Amherst College field hockey team's fifth consecutive win of the season came in dramatic fashion, as junior Molly Malloy scored the game-winning goal against archrival Williams in overtime to lift the Lord Jeffs to a 2-1 victory. Full Story

Oct. 18 - The Amherst College field hockey team picked up its fourth consecutive victory by defeating Little Three rival Wesleyan University, 3-0. The Lord Jeffs improve to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the NESCAC. Full Story

Oct. 16 - The Amherst College field hockey team stormed out to a 2-0 lead over visiting Babson College and hung on for a 2-1 victory, as the Lord Jeffs increased their winning streak to three games to improve to 7-4 on the season. Full Story

Oct. 13 - Amherst College junior Molly Malloy was named the NESCAC Field Hockey Player of the Week this afternoon for her play in a 2-0 week for Amherst. She lifted the Jeffs to wins over WNEC and Colby this week. Full Story

Oct. 11 - The Amherst College field hockey team used a pair of goals from junior Molly Malloy to earn a 3-1 win over Colby College. The Lord Jeffs move to 6-4 overall and 3-3 in the NESCAC. Full Story

Oct. 10 - The Amherst College field hockey team improved to 5-4 with a convincing 9-0 win at Western New England College, marking the Lord Jeffs' second 9-0 victory over a non-conference opponent this season. Full Story

Oct. 4 - The Amherst College field hockey team suffered a 4-0 loss to 10th-ranked Tufts University to fall to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the NESCAC, while the Jumbos improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play. Full Story

Sept. 24 - The Amherst College field hockey team battled No. 20 Springfield College on the road this evening, but came away with a 1-0 loss. Amherst drops to 3-2 on the year heading into a NESCAC match with defending national champion Bowdoin this weekend. Full Story

Sept. 16 - The Amherst College field hockey team improved to 2-1 on the season this evening with a 9-0 home win over local rival Smith College. The Jeffs will face Bates College this weekend in NESCAC action. Full Story

Sept. 13 - The Amherst College field hockey team held a 2-1 lead over Middlebury into the second half, but saw four unanswered Panther scores steal the game away late. Amherst falls to 1-1 in NESCAC play and on the season. Full Story

Lord Jeff Field Hockey Tops Conn. College 3-1 in Season Opener
Sept. 6 - The Amherst College field hockey team opened the 2008 season this morning with a 3-1 win at Connecticut College. The Lord Jeffs picked up goals from sophomore Liz Schink, first-year Carly Dudzik and senior Catherine Calvert to rally from a 1-0 deficit for the win. Full Story

Strength, Depth at All Positions Make Amherst Prime Contender in '08

August 29 - With exceptional talent and significant depth at each position, Amherst is in prime position to earn a third consecutive playoff berth. The Jeffs have demonstrated the ability to compete with the best teams in the nation, as evidenced by three consecutive one-goal losses to defending champion Bowdoin, two of which came in overtime. Ten of Amherst’s 15 losses in the past two years have come by just one goal, but this year’s squad has enough weapons to get over the hump and become one of the top teams in the NESCAC.
