Elise Tropiano Wins National Championship in 5,000-Meter Run; Amherst Men's DMR Team Places Seventh to End Impressive Indoor Season
Mar. 14 - After placing seventh in the 5,000-meter run at each of the past two NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, Amherst College senior Elise Tropiano has earned the title of "national champion" for her winning time of 16:58.84 in Saturday afternoon's 5k in Terre Haute, Indiana. NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships to Begin Friday
Mar. 9 - Amherst College will send five student-athletes to the 2009 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. Senior Elise Tropiano will attempt to earn All-America honors in the 5k for the third consecutive year. Full Story

Mar. 7 - Amherst College junior Daniel Murner won the 3,000-meter run and the 5,000-meter run at the ECAC Championships to lead the Lord Jeff men to second place, while the Amherst women tied for 19th. Full Story

Tropiano, Murner Lead Track Teams at Open New England Championships
Feb. 28 - Amherst College senior Elise Tropiano won the 3,000-meter run and junior Daniel Murner placed third in the 5k to lead the Lord Jeff men's and women's indoor track and field teams at the 2009 Open New England Championships. Feb. 21 - The Amherst College men's indoor track and field team placed 12th in a field of 24 teams at the Division III New England Championships. Senior Peter Foote led the Jeffs by finishing third in the 5,000-meter run. Full Results

Feb. 21 - The Amherst College women's indoor track and field team placed eighth in a field of 24 teams at the Division III New England Championships. Senior Elise Tropiano won the 3,000-meter run and was part of the Jeffs' winning distance medley team. Full Results

Jan. 24 - The Amherst College indoor track and field teams took part in their first scoring meet of the winter season Saturday afternoon in the Reggie Poyau Track Meet at Brandeis University. Amherst Teams Looking to Run Strong in 2008-09
Nov. 11 - The Amherst College men's and women's indoor track teams will begin competition at Smith College on Dec. 6, before taking a break until after the New Year. After a strong showing throughout last season, the Lord Jeff teams will face off against some of the toughest competition in the region at seven meets before heading into the NCAA Division III New England Championships at Boston University in late February.
