June 22 - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association named five Amherst College men's and women's tennis players for the 2009 All-American lists this week. Zack Lerner, Austin Chafetz and Moritz Koenig represent the Lord Jeff men's team, while Brittany Berckes and Natasha Brown come off the women's side. Full Story

Zack Lerner, Moritz Koenig Stopped in NCAA Quarterfinals
May 23 - Amherst College senior Zack Lerner and sophomore Moritz Koenig suffered a three-set loss to Charlie Cutler and Chris Hoeland of Washington University in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Doubles Championship, bringing the Lord Jeffs' amazing season to an end. Full Story

Jeffs Wrap up Day One of Individual Championships; Lerner, Chafetz Earn ITA Awards
May 22 - Amherst College's Zack Lerner and Austin Chafetz were each eliminated from the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Championship Round of 32 Friday, but Lerner and sophomore Moritz Koenig advanced to Saturday's quarterfinal round in the doubles tournament. Lerner and Chafetz were also named the ITA Northeast Senior and Rookie of the Year, respectively. Full Story

Amherst Ends Season with 5-0 Loss to UC Santa Cruz in NCAA Finals; Jeffs Finish at 28-7
May 21 - The Amherst College men's tennis team suffered a 5-0 loss to UC Santa Cruz in the NCAA Division III Championship finals Thursday afternoon in Claremont, California. The Lord Jeffs finish the program's most successful season with a 28-7 record. Full Story

Amherst Upsets Washington in NCAA Semifinals, 5-2; Jeffs to Play UC Santa Cruz for Title
May 20 - The sixth-ranked Amherst College men's tennis team picked up yet another upset with a 5-2 win over top-ranked defending national champion Washington University in the NCAA semifinals. The Lord Jeffs will take on six-time NCAA champion UC Santa Cruz Thursday at 4 p.m. in the national title match. Full Story

Amherst Defeats Middlebury to Earn First Trip to National Semifinals; Jeffs to Face Wash-U
May 19 - The Amherst College men's tennis team is heading to the national semifinals for the first time in program history, as the Jeffs defeated Middlebury College for the first time since 2001 in Tuesday's quarterfinal match, 5-1. May 13 - Amherst College is heading to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges for the 2009 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championships. The three-day team championships are set to begin Tuesday, May 19, with the three-day individual championships beginning Friday, May 22. Full Story

Jeffs Take Rare 6-3 Result Over Johns Hopkins in NCAA Third Round
May 10 - The Amherst College men's tennis team fell into a 2-1 hole against Johns Hopkins after doubles play, but tied the match 3-3, before winning a trio of three-set matches, including the final two on the same point, for a 6-3 win. The Lord Jeffs advance to the National Quarterfinals with the win, where they will face NESCAC rival Middlebury College next weekend in Claremont, CA. Full Story

Amherst Cruises Past Roger Williams in NCAA Second Round
May 9 - Amherst College looked sharp during Saturday morning's 5-0 win over Roger Williams University in the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship. The Lord Jeffs will take on Johns Hopkins University in Sunday's regional final. Full Story

All-NESCAC Team Announced; Jeffs Pick up Coach, Rookie, Co-Player of the Year Honors
May 8 - Amherst College was well represented on the 2009 NESCAC Men's Tennis All-Conference Team, which was announced today. While Chris Garner was named the Coach of the Year by his peers, Austin Chafetz and Zack Lerner were named the Rookie of the Year and Co-Player of the Year, respectively. Full Story

May 5 - The Amherst College men's tennis team has been selected to host the opening three rounds of the 2009 NCAA Division III Championships. Apr. 26 - In a battle between two of the nation's best men's tennis teams with the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NESCAC Championship on the line, Amherst College came out on the losing end of a 5-4 marathon thriller with Middlebury. Apr. 19 - The Amherst College men's tennis team increased its winning streak to 10 matches with 8-1 victories over Babson and Bowdoin on Sunday. The Jeffs improve to 23-4 overall and have only one regular season match remaining before beginning NESCAC Championship play. Full Story

Apr. 18 - The 7th-ranked Amherst College men's tennis team topped Trinity College 7-2 this afternoon to remain unbeaten NESCAC play at 5-0. The Lord Jeffs improved to 21-4 in dual matches this year with the victory, and will face Babson and Bowdoin tomorrow at home. Full Story

Apr. 12 - The 7th-ranked Amherst College men's tennis team fell behind 2-1 after doubles play to 5th-ranked NESCAC and Little Three archrival Williams College, but rallied in singles action for a 5-4 win. Amherst Picks up Wins Over Brandeis, Bates
Apr. 4 - The Amherst College men's tennis team earned a 9-0 win over Brandeis University in its first of two Saturday matches before opening its NESCAC schedule with an 8-1 win over Bates. Full Story

Lord Jeffs Take Two Over Skidmore and Vassar
Mar. 28 - The Amherst College men's tennis team picked up a pair of wins over Liberty League foes this afternoon, topping both Skidmore College and Vassar College in Saratoga Springs, New York. The 6th-ranked Lord Jeffs improved to 15-4 on the season with the wins. Full Story

Mar. 21 - The Amherst College men's tennis team defeated Cal-Tech, before taking down Pomona to advance to the title game of Stag Hen Tournament at Claremont McKenna College. The 3rd-ranked Claremont team took down the Lord Jeffs 7-2 to close out Amherst's spring break trip. Full Story

Mar. 18-19 - The Amherst College men's tennis team took three of four wins over the last two days of Spring Break. During the  stint, the Jeffs picked up wins over Redlands, Chapman and Occidental, while falling to Concordia. Full Story

Mar. 17 - The Amherst College men's tennis team picked up a pair of wins over La Verne and Cal-Lutheran this afternoon less than 24 hours after dropping a pair of matches against NAIA opponents. The men's team traveled nearly 2 hours to topple La Verne 8-1 and Lutheran 7-2. Full Story

Oct. 13 - The Amherst College men's tennis team wrapped up a very busy weekend this evening with another pair of impressive split squad wins. The top half of the team defeated Kenyon 5-4 in a marathon, while their teammates topped Wesleyan 9-0. Full Story

Oct. 12 - The Amherst College men's tennis team continued its busy weekend by earning a 6-3 win over Carnegie Mellon University and wrapping up competition at the Bates College Wallach Invitational. Sept. 28 - The Amherst College men’s tennis team sent five singles players and two doubles pairs to Williams College for the 2008 Intercollegiate Tennis Association New England Championships. Amherst Looking to Return to NCAA Championships
August 29 - Amherst
will have the opportunity to compete against a number of the top teams in the country. The fall schedule is highlighted by dual matches with Wesleyan, national championship contender Kenyon, and Johns Hopkins and Carnegie Mellon, both of whom could be top ten teams by season’s end.
