Three Lord Jeffs Earn NESCAC All-Academic, All-Sportsmanship Honors
Mar. 31 - Amherst College's Sarah Leyman '11 and Courtney Long '11 were each named to the 2010 NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team this afternoon. Additionally, sophomore forward Livia Rizzo earned All-Sportsmanship recognition. All-Academic ~ All-Sportsmanship

Women's Basketball Wins NCAA Third Place Game 56-44 Over Rochester
Mar. 20 - The Amherst College women's basketball team ended the 2009-10 season on a winning note, taking a 56-44 victory over Rochester to wrap up the best season in program history. The Lord Jeffs end the year with a 32-1 record, registering the most wins in any season in Amherst basketball history.  Full Story

Amherst's Title Hopes Dashed With 86-75 OT Loss to Wash. U in National Semis
Mar. 19 - The top-ranked Amherst College women's basketball team had its title hopes dashed this evening with an 86-75 loss to Washington University in St. Louis in the National Semifinals. Amherst (31-1) will take on Rochester Saturday at 12 p.m. (ET) in the National Consolation Game. Full Story

Gromacki Named WBCA National Coach of the Year; Stedman Named All-American
Mar. 18 - At the 2010 Final Four, the WBCA named coach G.P. Gromacki the National Coach of the Year and sophomore Caroline Stedman the Amherst program's second All-American. D3hoops.com also named Stedman a Second Team All-American. Full Story

Mar. 16 - D3hoops.com has named Amherst College sophomore Caroline Stedman and head coach G.P. Gromacki the 2010 All-Northeast Region Player and Coach of the Year. Less than 24 hours later, the ECAC named Stedman the New England Division III Player of the Year. Full Story

Amherst Punches Ticket to Final Four with Win Over Babson
Mar. 13 - With an 80-65 win over Babson College, the Amherst College women's basketball team has earned a spot in the Final Four for the second time in as many years. The Lord Jeffs will head to Illinois Wesleyan for a Mar. 19 matchup with either Washington-Saint Louis or George Fox. Full Story

Amherst Edges Williams in NCAA Thriller, 71-66
Mar. 12 - In the most thrilling game of the season, the Amherst College women's basketball team earned a 71-66 win over archrival Williams College to advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals. The Lord Jeffs (30-0), who overcame a 12-point halftime deficit and trailed by as many as 15, will host Babson College Saturday at 6 p.m. with a trip to the Final Four on the line. Full Story

Stedman and Gromacki Earn WBCA All-Region Honors
Mar. 9 - The WBCA named Amherst College sophomore, and 2010 NESCAC Player of the Year, Caroline Stedman one of just 40 finalists for the State Farm Coaches All-America Team. Additiaonlly, Amherst head coach G.P. Gromacki was named the Region 1 Coach of the Year for Division III. Full Story

Mar.7 - The NCAA has named Amherst College one of four Sectional hosts for the upcoming "Sweet 16" and "Elite 8" rounds of tournament play. Mar. 3 - The Amherst College women's basketball team cleaned up as the NESCAC All-Conference teams were announced this afternoon. Mar. 1 - Amherst College sophomore point guard Shannon Finucane has been named the NESCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for leading the Lord Jeffs to the 2010 conference title this past weekend. Finucane scored a game-high 21 points against Colby in the championship bout. Full Story

Top-Ranked Jeffs Earn 69-54 Win Over Colby for NESCAC Title
Feb. 28 - The Amherst College women's basketball team earned a 69-54 win over Colby College to claim its second NESCAC title in three years. With an automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Tournament, the Lord Jeffs will begin their quest for the program's first national title with a 27-0 record. Full Story

Feb. 1 - Amherst College sophomore Caroline Stedman was named the NESCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week this afternoon for her play in a pair of wins at Colby and Bowdoin. In five conference games, Stedman leads the NESCAC in scoring. Full Story
