Shaina Pollack returns to the court for a sixth season with Amherst, and for a second season as an assistant coach. During her debut season as an assistant coach last winter, Amehrst to the best season in program history. Pollack was a standout player for the Lord Jeffs, and as a senior in 2008 led Amherst into the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.  She finished her career fourth on Amherst's all-time assist list with 326. Pollack's on-court legacy as a big-game player was confirmed when she dropped a career-high 29 points against defending national champion DePauw University in her final game. Amherst lost to DePauw in the NCAA Tournament's Round of 16, 68-63, closing the books on an amazing senior season for Pollack. In 2007-08, Pollack was named to the All-NESCAC First Team and received All-America Honorable Mention status from the WBCA.
