Women's Cross Country Finishes 21st at NCAA Championship
Nov. 21 - The Amherst College women's cross country team finished its season this afternoon with a 21st place result at the 2009 NCAA National Championship. The Lord Jeffs were led by first-year Ali Simeone, who placed 51st individually. Full Results ~ Full Story

NESCAC All-Academic, All-Sportsmanship Teams Announced
Nov. 20 - The NESCAC announced the members of its Fall All-Academic and All-Sportsmanship Teams, with 42 Amherst student-athletes earning All-Academic honors for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.35. Full Story

Amherst Teams Headed to Nationals This Weekend
Nov. 17 - Amherst College’s fall season will conclude this weekend when the Lord Jeff men’s and women’s cross country teams head to Highland Hills, Ohio, for the 2009 NCAA Division III National Championships. Full Story

Amherst Women Place Fourth at Regional Championships
Nov. 14 - The Amherst women's cross country team placed fourth in a field of 47 teams at the NCAA Regional Championships. The Jeffs will hear Sunday whether or not they receive an at-large bid to the national championship race. Full Story

Nov. 7 - The Amherst College cross country teams headed to Williams College for the ECAC Championships, with the Lord Jeff men placing fourth and the women finishing third. Amherst will head to Southern Maine next weekend for the NCAA District Championships. Full Story

Oct. 3 - The Amherst College women's cross country team cruised to a win at Keene State Saturday afternoon by placing five runners in the top 10. Senior Sophia Galleher won the individual title with a time of 18:40. Full Story

Sept. 21 - Amherst College senior tri-captain Sophia Galleher has been named the NESCAC Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week for leading the Lord Jeffs at this past Saturday’s UMass Invitational. Full Story

Sept. 19  - The Amherst College women's cross country team placed fourth out of five teams at the UMass Invitational this afternoon. Boston College won the team and individual titles, with senior tri-captain Sophia Galleher leading the Lord Jeffs. Full Story

Amherst Rebuilds Toward Seventh-Straight NCAA Appearance
Sept. 9 - After capturing the NCAA title in 2007, the Amherst women's cross country team again returned to the National Championships in 2008 to mark its sixth consecutive appearance in the national race. After graduating a very deep and talented class this past spring, Amherst will look to new leaders as it begins the 2009 season Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Amherst Invitational. Full Story

Tropiano Receives NESCAC's Nod for NCAA Woman of the Year
June 12 - Amherst College senior Elise Tropiano was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference's nominee for the 2009 NCAA Woman of the Year this afternoon. This marks the second time in the last three years that a Lord Jeff womens runner earned the conference's highest honor, as Tropiano follows in the footsteps of former teammate Shauneen Garrahan '07.
