Amherst Holds Clinic for Honorary Teammate and Friends
Apr. 22 - On Friday, Apr. 16, members of the Amherst College men’s soccer team traveled to Fitchburg, Mass., to spend the afternoon with honorary teammate Michael Lanosa and some of his friends from the Saint Anthony School. Michael has been an honorary captain of the Lord Jeffs since he joined the Amherst family through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation in 2007. Full Story

Amherst Networking Night Update: Spring 2010
Apr. 14 - Amherst College continued its tradition of maintaining strong ties between the men’s soccer program’s alumni and current team members through the annual “Networking Night” event. Members of the 2009 Lord Jeff squad partnered up with their predecessors in Boston and New York City for a pair of gatherings this past month, marking the third consecutive year of the event. Jeffs Earn NSCAA Team GPA Award; Lewis and Genco Grab Honors
Dec. 11 - For the second consecutive year, the Amherst College men's soccer team registered the highest team GPA in the NCAA's Division I, II, or III. Additionally, Amherst senior co-captains Matt Lewis and Greg Genco were honored for their play this season. Full Story

NESCAC All-Academic, All-Sportsmanship Teams Announced
Nov. 20 - The NESCAC announced the members of its Fall All-Academic and All-Sportsmanship Teams, with 42 Amherst student-athletes earning All-Academic honors for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.35. Full Story

Men's Soccer Ends Season with 2-0 Loss at York in NCAA Second Round
Nov. 15 - The Amherst College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 result at York College (Pa.) this afternoon in the Second Round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. With the loss, Amherst's season ends with a 12-4-1 record. Full Story
Amherst Blanks Salem State in Opening Round, 4-0
Nov. 14 - The Amherst College men's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 win over Salem State in the opening round of the NCAA Championship. The Lord Jeffs will take on regional host York College Sunday at 1 p.m. in the second round. Full Story

Lewis, Genco Named to Men's Soccer All-NESCAC Teams
Nov. 12 - The NESCAC announced today the members of its 2009 Men's Soccer All-Conference Teams, with Amherst College senior co-captains Matt Lewis and G.L. Genco earning spots on the First and Second Team, respectively. Full Story

Men's Soccer Grabs At-Large Bid; Jeffs to Face Salem St.
Nov. 8 - The Amherst College men's soccer team received an at-large bid to the upcoming NCAA Tournament this evening as one of the 17 pool "C" births. Amherst will travel to York (PA) to face Salem State this weekend. Full Story

Lord Jeffs Fall to Middlebury 2-1 on Late Goal in NESCAC Quarters
Nov. 1 - The No. 3 seed Amherst College men's soccer team fell to No. 6 seed Middlebury College this afternoon in the quarterfinals of the 2009 NESCAC Championship Tournament. Oct. 12 - Amherst College sophomore goalie Lennard Kovacs was named the NESCAC Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week this afternoon for his pair of shutout wins during a 2-0-0 week. This is the second career weekly honor for Kovacs. Full Story

Oct. 10 - The Amherst College men's soccer team scored a trio of beautiful goals in a 3-0 home win over Middlebury College this afternoon. Spencer Noon '13, Ian Rothkopf '11 and James Mooney '12 all found the net for the Jeffs. Full Story

Oct. 7 - The Amherst College men's soccer team earned a 1-0 win over Framingham State College on a windy night at Gooding Field. Sophomore Lennard Kovacs made a number of exceptional saves in the win. Full Story

Sept. 26 - The 2nd-ranked Amherst College men's soccer team dropped its first game of the season this afternoon, falling to Conn College 4-1 on the road. With the loss, Amherst falls to 3-1 overall, and 2-1 in the NESCAC. Full Story

Sept. 16 - The second-ranked Amherst College men's soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bridgewater State College. The Lord Jeffs got a pair of goals from junior Ian Rothkopf and two assists from senior Chris Devine. Full Story

Noon Named NESCAC Player of the Week
Sept. 14 - Amherst rookie Spencer Noon was named the NESCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week this afternoon for his pair of goals in a 2-0 win over Bowdoin on the weekend. Noon scored twice, while no other NESCAC team was able to score more than a single tally on Saturday. Full Story

Sept. 12 - First-year Spencer Noon scored a pair of goals during an impressive collegiate debut to lead the Amherst men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Bowdoin College. The Jeffs will host Bridgewater State Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. on Gooding Field. Full Story

Sept. 11 - The Amherst College men’s and women’s soccer teams welcomed alumni to the Pioneer Valley this past weekend. Thanks to perfect weather conditions and a great turnout, the weekend was a success as former players served as spectators, fans, participants, friends and mentors. Full Story

Amherst Looks to Build on Program's Best Season
Sept. 9 - The 3rd-ranked Amherst men's soccer team opens play this weekend in defense of the program's first NESCAC title. Amherst lost both of its leading scorers from last year's potent offense but returns a core of experienced veterans. After posting seven straight shutouts in a postseason run to the 2008 national semifinals, Amherst has high hopes for the 2009 season. Full Story

Amherst Standout Jae Heo Agrees to Write Exclusive Blog
Aug. 18 - Jae Heo ’12 made an immediate impact on the Amherst men’s soccer program last fall as a first-year. Even though Heo came to Amherst by way of The Pennington School in New Jersey, he will not return to the  sidelines until 2011, as he will return to his native country of South Korea to enlist in the navy.
