Mike Rejniak, Assistant Coach
Mike Rejniak returns to the Amherst College coaching staff for a fourth season as the full-time assistant. His main duties include recruiting, scouting, film editing, player development and on-court instruction. Rejniak has worked national recruiting ties to bring in over 15 student-athletes to the Lord Jeff Men’s Basketball program. He has played an integral role in having nine Amherst seniors in the past three seasons go on to play professional basketball in Europe and the United States. He has had 11 former players—including four All-Americans—move on to play professionally after they have graduated.
Prior to Amherst, Rejniak spent one year coaching at nearby Plymouth State University in Plymouth, N.H., and was a graduate assistant at The College of New Jersey in Ewing, N.J., for two seasons. During his tenure at TCNJ, Rejniak was part of a staff that received a “Coaching Staff of The Year” honor in 2006 and coached in the New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Star Game. While attending TCNJ, Rejniak earned a master’s degree in athletic administration.
Rejniak is a product of Southampton, Mass., and attended Hampshire Regional High School before playing basketball and studying at Springfield College. While playing for the Pride, Rejniak graduated cum laude with a degree in physical education. He has worked for summer basketball camps such as Bulldog Elite Camp at Yale University, The Basketball Academy at Harvard, Hoop Mountain Basketball Camp, Five-Star Basketball Camp, and Hoop Group Elite Camp. He resides in Amherst and also teaches Physical Education courses.
