One of the best centers in program history, Kevin Hopkins ’08 returns to the Pioneer Valley for his first year on the Amherst bench. During the course of four seasons he helped the Lord Jeffs post a 111-12 overall record en route to three berths in the national semifinals and the program’s first national championship in 2007.

A dominant presence in the paint, Hopkins ranked among the conference leaders in blocked shots and field-goal percentage in each of his final two seasons in Purple and White. Averaging 10.4 points per game during the team’s championship run, he led the NESCAC in field-goal percentage (0.629) as a senior.

Graduating in 2008 with a degree in psychology, Hopkins played professionally in Europe for the Osnabruck P4Two Ballers in Osnabruck, Germany. Later that year he would join a team in Gotha, Germany and in 2009 played alongside former teammate Andrew Olson ’08 with Oldenburg TB.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Hopkins will pursue a master's degree in sport management from the UMass Isenberg School of Management.
