The 2011 season will be the 26th in the decorated career of head coach Sue Everden, who has molded the Amherst volleyball program into one of the finest in the nation. Everden has guided the team to a 564-222 overall record, 21 postseason appearances, 19 20-win seasons, six NCAA Tournament berths and three NESCAC championships, twice earning NESCAC and New England Region Coach of the Year honors along the way.

The Jeffs' 28-5 record in 2006 marked the highest winning percentage (84.8%) of Everden’s tenure at Amherst, but the 2007 squad broke that mark by going 30-5 (.857) and earning a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time in program history. Everden's 2010 Lord Jeffs were even more impressive, finishing with a 25-4 record (.862) thanks to a 16-match win streak that spanned more than a month.

After graduating from Slippery Rock University, Everden completed her master's degree at Springfield College and has spent the next 25 years coaching a variety of sports at several colleges, including Clarkson University, the United States Coast Guard Academy and her ongoing tenure at Amherst.

Everden is once again joined on the sidelines by assistant coach Roxann Link.
