Amherst Hosting Food Drive at Weekend Games

Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – Amherst College staff, students and faculty are coming together to address poverty, hunger and interfaith engagement.

As part of the college’s Campus Challenge, fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable foods to this weekend’s baseball, lacrosse and tennis events. All food donations will be given to the Amherst Survival Center.

The Campus Challenge committee is in the last phase of pushing to “Fill A Truck” of non-perishable food, with the initial goal set at 6,318 pounds. Those who would prefer to make a cash donation can do so, which would help reach the committee’s goal of raising $10,000 for the Amherst Survival Center.

Student workers will be available to collect food and money donations at this weekend’s sporting events. Learn more about the Campus Challenge and view a complete schedule of weekend events. Thank you for your support of the Amherst Survival Center!
