SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – For the fourth time in her career and first time this season, Amherst College All-American Keri Lambert ’13 has been named the NESCAC Performer of the Week after her win at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday helped the Lord Jeffs secure a second-place finish in the 43-team event.
Running a course on which she had not set foot since high school, Lambert dominated the 453-person field at Stanley Park in Westfield, finishing with her best time of the season in 21:30.11. She crossed the line over 20 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Addie Tousley of Middlebury (21:50.61), easily besting her Panther rival just two weeks after Tousley outkicked Lambert at Williams’ Purple Valley Classic.
Lambert earned the NESCAC weekly honor three times during her breakout junior year, twice during cross country season and once for her success in outdoor track. The Amherst native will be seeking her second All-American honor in cross country this fall after finishing eighth at the 2011 NCAA Championships.
Lambert and her teammates will continue their season at home Saturday when they host the Little Three Championships beginning at 12 p.m.
