Paolano Named NESCAC Player of the Week

Paolano.jpgAMHERST, Mass. – Katie Paolano ’16 of the 14th-ranked Amherst field hockey team earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors for her performance during a 3-0 stanza that included four goals and two assists.

In the first game of the week, Paolano registered a goal and an assist in an 8-2 non-conference win against Springfield.

She followed up that performance with another goal and assist against second-ranked and defending national champions, Tufts. The Jeffs shut out the Jumbos 3-0 for the first time in 10 years, handing Tufts its first lost of the season.

The sophomore capped off the week with a two-goal effort against Bates as Amherst claimed its fifth consecutive win, 6-0. 

The Jeffs host Keene State in a non-conference matchup on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 4:15 p.m.
