Zsitvay Named NESCAC Player of the Week

AMHERST, Mass - Krista Zsitvay '14 of the seventh-ranked Amherst field hockey team earned NESCAC Player of the Week laurels on Monday for her stellar performance in wins against Trinity and Wesleyan.
The senior forward earned recognition from the conference office for the first time this season and was the third Jeff this year to receive the award.
Zsitvay scored the first goal in the regular-season finale against Trinity before netting the equalizer on a second-half penalty stroke, helping Amherst lock up its first No. 1 seed in the NESCAC Tournament in program history by defeating the Bantams, 3-2. She also tallied the only goal in the NESCAC Quarterfinals against Wesleyan, scoring at the 24:52 mark to give the Jeffs the 1-0 win.
She ranks second in the NESCAC with 13 assists. Coupled that with 12 goals, her 37 points are fourth among league leaders.
Amherst hosts fourth-seeded Middlebury in conference semifinal action this Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m.
