AMHERST, Mass. - Krista Zsitvay ’14 and Alex Philie ’14 continued to rake in postseason honors with the duo each earning a spot on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America Teams.

A first-team All-America honoree, Zsitvay enjoyed a stellar senior season in which she ranked fifth in the conference in points (37) and third in assists (13). Held scoreless through the team’s first three outings, she erupted for a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over archrival Williams on Sept. 21 before going on a midseason tear.

Continuing her hot streak, Zsitvay had two goals and nine assists in her next five games before scoring in four the Jeffs’ last six contests. Having a hand in the scoring in 13 of the squad’s 16 outings, she became the latest member of Amherst’s 100-point club with a pair of tallies against Wesleyan on Oct. 19. She completed her decorated collegiate career with 112 points on 43 goals and 26 helpers.

A staple in the Jeff lineup since her arrival, Philie started 66 of her 67 appearances, including all 16 of the team’s games this season en route to third-team All-America honors. Playing an integral role in Amherst’s transition game, she helped the Purple & White rank second in the conference in goals per game (4.0). Netting a pair of scores with three assists in 2013, she helped Amherst close out its season with a 64-20 goal differential. Over the course of her career, Philie has amassed 57 points on 19 goals and 19 assists.
