Men's Golf Places Third at Williams

Nicholas Koh '14 led all Amherst golfers, finishing tied for third with a two-day total of 153 (78-75).
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Amherst men’s golf team fought through inclement weather at the Taconic Golf Course, moving up one spot to finish third at the Williams Spring Invitational.
Sitting in fourth (310) after the first day of competition, the Jeffs carded a second round 323 to finish with a two-day total of 633. Host Williams College took home top honors (622), followed by Middlebury (629) and Amherst.
Hamilton shaved four strokes off its day one total but fell just short of catching the Jeffs, closing the tournament out in a fourth-place tie with Trinity (634). Bowdoin rounded out the field of six with a two-day tally of 683.
Nicholas Koh ’14 (Singapore) paced all Amherst golfers, tying for third overall by taking three strokes off his first round 78 to finish with a two-day 153. Ben Johnston ’13 (New York, N.Y.) tied for seventh, shooting a 157 (77-80), while Jarvis Sill ’15 (Portola Valley, Calif.), who sat tied for second after day one with a three-over par 74, posted a second round 85.
Josh Moser ’15 (San Francisco, Calif.) turned in a two-day 164 (81-83), while Mark Colp ’12 (Wareham, Mass.) took a shot off his first round 88 to record a 175. Erik Hansen ’14 Deephaven, Minn.) rounded out the list of Jeff competitors with a 178 (86-92).
Williams’ Dylan Dethier won the individual title, carding a 151 (73-78), while Wesleyan’s Peter Taylor came in second after posting a 76 in each round. Hamilton’s Greg Scott and Koh tied for third (153), while the Ephs’ Jake Abrahams and Middlebury’s Max Alley came in fifth and sixth, respectively to round out the list of golfers who earned All-Tournament accolades.
