SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - Nicholas Koh ’14 was named to the men’s golf All-NESCAC first team for the second-consecutive season after carding a two-day 149 and placing fifth at the 2012 Fall Qualifier.

Shooting a 76 on the first day of competition, Koh shaved three strokes off his next 18, finishing with a one over par 73 on Sunday. Through the 36-hole tournament, Koh led the field in par 3 scoring, finishing at even par. Also parring the second most holes during the course of the two-day event, he finished two under in par 5 scoring.

Placement on NESCAC All-Conference teams is based on individual performance at the qualifier. A total of six players were honored on the first team. Joining Koh were Trinity’s William Burchill and Nick Buenaventura, Middlebury’s William Prince and Hamilton’s Mac Pivirotto.

The Bantams’ Greg Palmer was named the NESCAC Player of the Year after posting a tournament-low 147 (76-71), while the Continentals’ Matt Yung (153-73-80) took home Rookie of the Year accolades as the top first-year finisher.

Koh has led the Jeffs in all three tournaments he has participated in this fall, finishing tied for sixth at Trinity (114-40-74) and tied for 28th at Williams (159-86-73) prior to last weekend’s qualifier.

Amherst wraps up its fall season against Williams on Oct. 13-14 for the Mountain-Valley Cup Challenge.
