Fine Leads Men's Golf at ECAC Championships

BERNARDSTON, Mass. – The Amherst men’s golf team, led by Liam Fine ’17, finished ninth (671-347-324) at the ECAC New England Division III Championships Sunday at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club.
Fine finished tied for ninth overall with a consistent round that featured a day one score of 81 followed by an 80 on day two (161).
Harrison Marick ’17, Brandon Brown ’15, and Erik Hansen ’14 all cut significant strokes off their first 18. Marick shot a team-low 79 on Sunday to finish tied for 20th in the field with a 164 scorecard. Brown took 11 strokes off his day-one score to finish with an 80 on Sunday and a two-day 171. Hansen showed the biggest improvement, cutting 17 strokes off his score to finish fourth on the team.
Middlebury won the event with a two-day 635 (318-317) followed by Westfield State and Western New England.
The ECAC Championship concluded the fall season for Amherst as they now await spring competition.
