Berman, Schwartz Named to NGCA All-American Scholar Team
From an NGCA Release
CORAL SPRINGS, FL – The National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Teams were announced last week, with Ali Berman (Boca Raton, FL) and Kinne Schwartz (Allen, TX) representing Amherst College as two of only 56 Division III honorees. This marks the second consecutive year that Schwartz has been named to the NGCA All-American Scholar Team.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all collegiate athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66 percent of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Berman served as Amherst’s lone captain for the 2007-08 season and graduated this past May as an English major, while Schwartz completed her sophomore season majoring in Religion. Berman and Schwartz became the second and third Lord Jeffs to be recognized by the NGCA this year, as teammate Hayley Milbourn earned NGCA All-Region and All-America First Team honors and was named the Division III Freshman of the Year in May.
The NGCA was founded in 1983 and is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. Today, the NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
