Jeffs Post Fourth Straight Shutout with 2-0 Win at Colby

WATERVILLE, ME - The Amherst College men's soccer team earned its fourth straight shutout with a 2-0 victory over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference action Saturday.
Lennard Kovacs (Wolfersdorf, Germany) made two saves to earn the shutout and the Lord Jeffs (8-2 overall, 4-2 NESCAC) now have a shutout streak of 379 minutes, 31 seconds.
Spencer Noon (Farmington, CT) had a one-timer off a pass from Chris Devine (Auburn, MA) at 16:48 of the first half to get the game-winning goal. The score was the rookie's team-leading sixth of the season, and his fourth game winner.
Colby (2-6-2, 1-5-1 NESCAC) battled hard and stayed in the game after trailing 1-0 at the break. The Mules had a 5-2 shot advantage in the second half. However, the Lord Jeffs got an insurance goal when senior co-captain Matt Lewis (Wayland, MA) had a header off a corner kick from first-year Chris Lerner (Canton, MA) with 6:20 to play in the game.
Dan Marden made two stops in net for the Mules.
