SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - Jae Heo ’14 has been named the NESCAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after helping the third-ranked Jeffs to a pair of wins over conference rivals Hamilton and Middlebury.

Having scored in each of the team’s five games this season, Heo carried his hot start through the weekend, tallying seven points on two goals and three assists.

A big part of Amherst’s 5-1 victory over Hamilton, he assisted on the game’s first tally 14:28 after the opening whistle. Just over six minutes later, Heo linked up with James Mooney ’13E to put the Jeffs up 2-0.

After the Continentals cut the deficit in half three minutes into the second half, he netted a goal of his own to once again give Amherst a two-score cushion before assisting on a Federico Sucre ’13 marker in the 64th minute.

Capping off the weekend with another tally against Middlebury, Heo headed in the game’s first goal at 38:24 to spark a 2-0 shutout win.

Amherst returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Curry.
